Yes, the great cornfields of Iowa; this is where republicans, with the exception of Giuliani, McCain, and Fred Thompson, will compete this weekend for the vote by Iowan republicans. You have Mitt Romney making drinks for people, and the other look alike republicans eating meat and shaking the only hands they can get. A separate poll released recently in Iowa has Don't Know defeating all republicans with McCain losing to Barack Obama. That's right more republicans in Iowa will vote for Obama over McCain. What you could see this weekend are a couple candidates dropping out of the race if they poll very low and a lack of money. Mitt Romney is the suspected winner, but why should this matter? You have majority of people in this country opposed to the Iraq War and none have an efficient health care plan other than to attack the Jihadists. This is simply pathetic and it is the reason why republicans lost single handedly in the 2006 elections.
Duncan Hunter, Mike Huckabee, Tom Tancredo, may I go on? Who are these people? The republican debates are so boring I am surprised they have not argued which meat tastes better. What the Iowa straw poll will ensure for us this weekend will be entertainment. If Romney wins it, then you will see him with people shaking hands and see him celebrate his little, toast if you'd like to call it, victory that will just make him in better position to win Iowa caucus. With republicans it could matter though since they love to follow the man, or shall I say white man, who wins the first state. Given that republican voters cannot decide may make this straw poll more significant for them. After all when it comes to November 2008, then any vote will matter much to them. Meanwhile lets sit back, relax, have some BBQ, and cotton candy as we see all them fight their own worthless battle in the cornfields of Iowa.

no more lesser of two evils
RON PAUL 2008
Paul took 5th place at the straw poll. I do support third parties, but with republicans in office I do not see the chance for third party candidates to succeed. With respect to Paul, I think he cannot win and that a libertarian route is not the way the country should go although I do like some things that he says. I'd pick a libertarian over republican any day, but I believe a progressive route and to bring in Independents, Greens, and even socialists would be great for America.
